Lawyer - Wills and Estates

 

About Us
BJT Legal is a well‑established Victorian law firm with a team of 30 dedicated professionals, committed to delivering exceptional client service across all practice areas. As our Wills and Estates practice continues to grow, we are seeking a talented and client‑focused lawyer to join our team in a full‑time capacity.

 

About the Role
You will work closely with the Director (and accredited Wills and Estates specialist) that leads this team to provide high‑quality advice across all areas of Wills and Deceased Estates, including:

  • Drafting wills, powers of attorney and succession planning documents

  • Advising executors and beneficiaries

  • Estate administration and probate applications

  • Estate litigation and VCAT matters (optional depending on experience)

  • Complex estate planning for high‑net‑worth clients (experience beneficial but not essential)

 

This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously while being supported by a collaborative and incredibly experienced team.

 

About You
You will thrive in this role if you are:

  • A qualified lawyer with at least 2 years PQE in Wills & Estates (more senior candidates and law graduates are welcome to apply)

  • Compassionate, professional and able to build trusted relationships with clients

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

  • Confident in managing files independently

  • Looking for a long‑term role within a supportive and progressive regional practice
